At Provo Canyon School, we are committed to helping children develop a well-rounded skill set that strengthens behavioral and mental development. Our learning center offers a robust curriculum and inpatient psychiatric treatment in Provo, UT. We are a multidisciplinary team of educators, counselors, therapists, and medical professionals that help students grow.

Adolescence is a critical period for a boy’s development. At our behavioral health center, we emphasize the academic, therapeutic, and developmental needs of participants. Students will receive a well-rounded education while also receiving effective psychiatric treatment for behavioral and mental health issues.

About Our Campus

Every child is unique. Therefore, we offer psychiatric services that are tailored specifically to the individual and his needs. Our campus includes live-in facilities and a team of full-time psychiatrists and nursing staff. Students will gain the power to pursue their academic goals while also receiving the care they deserve for their behavioral and mental health challenges.

Our youth residential treatment center includes all of the facilities of a school. In addition to having separate academic facilities, we also have a swimming pool, two gymnasiums, and athletic fields. The campus also contains dorm-style accommodations and full cafeteria services.

The Compass Program

The Compass Program was created to help our students continue to progress in their treatment process. The goals of the Compass Program are to learn life skills that help our kids build resilience and make a smooth transition back into their community. The structure of this program allows them the opportunity to practice the skills they have learned, and it gives them the chance to have more freedom and responsibilities.

The treatment continues to involve a team of professionals including psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, recreational staff and educators. Together, we provide comprehensive care that addresses their mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Located on the Provo Campus, their cottages are set up the same as the Springville Campus with some added comforts for more continued opportunities to practice in a somewhat traditional environment.

The core values of the Compass Program are as follows:

  1. Be Safe
  2. Be Responsible
  3. Be Respectful
  4. Be Positive

Some potential options of privileges are as follows:

  • Spend time in bedroom during privilege time.
  • Shower outside of cottage schedule times (cannot interfere with Cottage schedule such as meals and physical).
  • These are generalized and can change.

In the Compass Program, we offer Co-Ed Activities and phone calls. They may add friends/family to the call list with treatment team and parent approval. The home visit options are two to five days upon treatment team approval.
